Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit: when nu metal rules

In the period from the second half of the nineties at the beginning of the new millennium, the rock merged with the rap to produce the perfect sound to be administered to teenagers all over the world: 2 albums, especially, have become a symbol "Chocolate Starfish and the hot dog flavored water and "Hybrid theory", whose songs have depopulated on bright screens of MTV.

The youth who today approach the rock are invested by a number of terms that somehow should label the most popular subgenres. There is no doubt that the last decade has been one of the hot, in all its variants, including the very beginning of the 90's began to depopulate the nu metal. Specifically 2 were the bands that led the flag of nu metal with the albums respectively "Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water" by Limp Bizkit and "Hybrid Theory" by Linkin Park. Two episodes unrepeatable because perfectly pop: we are facing a thirty plenty of songs poster of a time when heavy metal guitar and rap metrics entwined wonders, so as to represent the mood of reference for all the guys in the garage felt to start a band.

The most representatie of Nu Metal on 2000 was "Hybrd Theory" by Linkin Park.

One of elements to be considered to talk Nu Metal topic is definitely the obsessive presene of teenager's life on Mtv era. In particular was Total Request Live to crown Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park as flag bearer of a genre that started in alternative mode due to the founding fathers Korn and Deftones, that became soon a sort of world music good both kids with wide pants and hooded sweatshirt and for young adults in search of quite pissed radio rock.

Nu Metal, which it's a successful crossover between hip hop culture and imaginary rock'n'roll, had its gods and its symbols. Hands up who does not remember the New York Yankees baseball worn by Limp Bizkit's frontman Fred Durst in all his television appearances. The boys of Jacksonville, who could count on a virtuos bass like Wes Borland, in 2000 and in 2001 published a series of top singles, both in the United States and in Europe: "My Generation","Rollin"(which exist a hip hop version with Dmx,Redman and Method Man),"My Way" but especially "Take a look around" become a hit song cause was the main soundtrack of Mission Impossible film

for Linkin Park, led by Chester Bennington (vocals) and a genius of Mike Shinoda (rap, keyboard and guitar) we must talk about their album which had a huge success: Hybrid Theory which sold about 27 milion copies and most of its tracks became known to public. The pearl, however, was "In The End", which invaded the homes of teenager all over the world for months. Other lucky singles were "Papercut","One Step Closer","Points Of Authority","Crawling" and "Runaway".

The Linkin Park album, written following the Classical music scheme verse-chorus-verse-chorus-chorus-interlude has all the pros and cons of Nu Metal, angry music but long repetative both as metrics and topics dealt (resentment, protest, general discomfort, invective against the system): these have actually decreed the end of the golden age of this genre, which still survives today due to the same groups taht decreed the global success fifteen years ago. The time of the milions album sold are just a memory, but for example Linkin Park continue to defend themselves on the market with a significant electronics change in the last studio work.
