Microsoft Studios' free-to-play game creator and sandbox simulator, Project Spark, is getting rid of its microtransactions, making all of its premium content free. Skybox Labs and Team Dakota's Project Spark hasn't become as big as Microsoft Studios had been hoping. Project Spark is kind of like a digital canvas that lets you create all kinds of custom content from scratch, including games and movies. You can use the controller and Kinect to build/animate models and to record audio, where your...

Giving back to those who need it the most is something Linkin Park understands better than most. In 2004, the band founded the non-profit organization Music For Relief, an organization that strives to donate resources and supplies to those in need. The group was founded in response to the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami crisis, and since then has been dedicated to helping heal the effects of natural disasters, and mitigating its impact by helping preserve the environment. In the past, the...

Pulled pork sandwiches, Empanadas, craft beer and carnival rides. It doesn’t get much better than that unless you mix in some rock bands. The last day of the Food Truck and Rock Carnival housed some roaring rock acts. The Massachusetts lads of Godsmack headlined Main Stage 1 and had some fun onstage as they cranked out new tracks “Generation Day” and their title track “1000hp.” The energy only kicked into high gear from there as they unleashed “Keep Away” which included a snippet...

Oliver Sykes and Jordan Fish of Bring Me The Horizon had a lot on their minds when they came to Radio.com to discuss their new album, That’s the Spirit. There’s their somewhat more accessible direction. There’s their message about fighting depression. And then, there was the fact that their album was going head-to-head on the album charts in their homeland of England against British indie legends the Stereophonics. Unfortunately for them, the Stereophonics came out on top on the U.K....

The youth who today approach the rock are invested by a number of terms that somehow should label the most popular subgenres. There is no doubt that the last decade has been one of the hot, in all its variants, including the very beginning of the 90's began to depopulate the nu metal. Specifically 2 were the bands that led the flag of nu metal with the albums respectively "Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water" by Limp Bizkit and "Hybrid Theory" by Linkin Park. Two episodes...

Returning to the UK after a ten year hiatus, Fort Minor’s sole member and Linkin Park creative force Mike Shinoda was quick to make up for lost time as he burst into Petrified and In Stereo. In an age where bands break up and reform in months, it’s no surprise that the Minor faithful had sold out the show when this intimate return was announced. From the off its clear many had been waiting a long time for this night, singing along and shouting out to their hero, it was hard to tell who was...

But these days the group members feel like things are settled and, dare they say, normal — or as normal as possible. At the end of February 2013, STP — which formed during the mid-’80s in San Diego — fired founding frontman Scott Weiland and has continued with Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington in his place. Both parties filed suits against each other, which were settled out of court, and Bennington and the other three members of STP — brothers Robert and Dean DeLeo and drummer Eric...

The best part is STP seemed pretty cool about it. No security team swarmed him. Chester Bennington who is singing with the band now, put his arm around him and let the guy sing along. He also gave the guy a chance to say anything he wanted after the song was finished. What he says will crack you up!! Shameful! Chester said: “This guy’s really [an effing] champion right here. I’ve never seen a mother[effer] jump onstage and hang out, sing, fall backwards, and still be standing here.”
