Today, his widow Talinda uploaded a 40-second clip to Twitter showing the band frontman grinning and in seemingly high spirits as he was surrounded by his family in what she revealed was "the most personal Tweet I have ever done."
The grieving mum continued: "I'm showing this so that you know that depression doesn't have a face or a mood."
In a separate upload, she continued: "This is what depression looked like to us just 36 hours b4 his death.
"He loved us SO much and we loved him."
Talinda followed up with the hashtags #f***depression and #MakeChesterProud."
The short clip showed the tattooed star playing a game with his family.
After he lost he was forced to chomp on a disgusting coloured sweet - after which he grimaced and pretended to be sick.
The squeals of his loved ones around him showed just how much they loved his entertainment.
My next tweet is the most personal tweet I have ever done. I'm showing this so that you know that depression doesn't have a face or a mood.
