Chester Bennington’s eldest son Jamie has released new additions to his Reveries compositions. Jamie’s mother is Elka Brand, not the widowed Talinda Bennington, although it was the latter who shared Jamie’s music.
As a pianist, Jamie was inspired by his love for Dimitri Shostakovich that he has “cultivated over the last six months through the systematic consumption of every symphony, brooding string quartet, and whimsical piano solo…” His goal was to produce music that sounded good, unconstrained by notions of harmony or time or his “hard-wired academic prejudices.”
Talinda Bennington shared Jamie’s blog to Twitter recently, saying in a tweet that he is “as talented as his father.” These pieces came out days before Chester’s tragic suicide, although since then there has been nothing out of Jamie. We hope he will be returning to music soon.
