Early in its career, Linkin Park was known as Hybrid Theory. That eventually became the title of the Los Angeles heavy-rock band’s diamond-certified 2000 debut album, but it also remains the best descriptor of the sextet’s musical approach. In the course of a career — which to date has included seven studio albums and two remix sets — Linkin Park has put a premium on unapologetic musical melding, whether it’s joining rap and heavy metal or venturing into electronic music or...

Fan response to Linkin Park‘s poppy single “Heavy” is still as strong as ever, as seen during the band’s recent appearance at this year’s Hellfest in France. During their performance of the track, a member of the audience tossed a projectile at Chester Bennington, catching him off guard momentarily. Watch footage above. It seemed to rile him up for a second, motioning a “bring it” to whoever tossed it from the audience, before calming down and having a laugh about it. Bennington...

Martin Garrix has calmly delivered some giant news this past weekend in an onsite interview. While we knew that Martin was working on a bunch of new music with several artists we could not have guessed the news he just dropped. He is collaborating with Linkin Park. Garrix also dropped the news that a radio follow up for ‘There For You' is on the way. You can check out all the news below in this brief clip. Also as a heads up to this interviewer…just scoot back a few inches.

Given how polarized Linkin Park's fanbase has been over its new album, One More Light, the bandmembers weren't necessarily expecting to snag their fifth No. 1 album debut on the Billboard 200. But that only made it more gratifying when it did after the set's mid-May release. "Obviously, there are always risks involved, so for us, the reward is the music itself, for sure," guitarist and One More Light co-producer Brad Delson tells Billboard. "To have our sixth [studio] album hit No. 1, it's...

Linkin Park’s seventh album One More Light is out now and one of its standout singles is “Good Goodbye” featuring Stormzy and Pusha T. It’s the band’s second collab with Pusha, following a 2013 remix of “I’ll Be Gone.” The track is co-produced by Brad Delson and Mike Shinoda. “There’s an etiquette to how you put together a song with multiple people on it because you want to show respect to everyone involved and make sure they’re each doing a verse that represents them...

A band’s debut album can either define them immediately or hint at what musical steps will be taken next. Often times, the first album is slightly raw as the artists showcase their obvious influences, coming into their own on future releases. But how about the groups who are in a constant state of evolution or just flat out changed their style partway through their career? That’s the focus of this list as we examine hard rock and metal acts who have distanced themselves from their early...

On their seventh outing, Linkin Park have veered so far off-course from their nu-metal, alternative rock roots that the band are almost unrecognisable, save for lead singer Chester Bennington's distinctive vocals. The 10-track album is more pop than rock and makes one wonder: Where is the angst and aggression? Where are the power chords that made Linkin Park the Diamond-selling, chart-topping band of 2000? The edge, angst and energy of the past have all but evaporated into a mass of insipid,...

Last week on the Billboard 200, hard rock-turned-adult pop band Linkin Park debuted at No. 1 with their latest album One More Light. The title started at the top thanks to an especially quiet week (in terms of newly-released records), giving the outfit its sixth chart-topper on the all-encompassing tally. By hitting No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a sixth time, Linkin Park has become the latest group to join a club of rock bands that have managed at least half a dozen leaders, and they are in...
